Bishop Burbidge Celebrates School Children's Mass at St. Agnes
St. Agnes clergy, parishioners, school administrators, teachers and students joyfully greeted Bishop Michael F. Burbidge the morning of Thursday, March 1st. Bishop Burbidge visited the parish to celebrate the Children’s Mass, at which he highlighted the role of Catholic education in teaching the Faith to the next generation. Through his characteristic warmth, he naturally connected with the students, using his Staff and Mitre to demonstrate his responsibility to serve as a shepherd to the faithful and to teach the Faith.
The Bishop stayed to pass out St. Agnes School’s Virtue Awards, this month's being for honesty, to the students with Fr. Frederick Edlefsen, pastor. Following that, Bishop Burbidge, Fr. Edlefsen, and Fr. Rich Miserendino, parochial vicar, visited classrooms at St. Agnes School and spent the late morning talking with students, teachers and administrators.
The students send their thanks and appreciation to the Bishop for his loving service and leadership.
