Farewell, St. Agnes

Fr. Edlefsen's Sunday Column
Tree Of Life

Dear St. Agnes,

My last day as your Pastor will be on Wednesday, June 24, which will also be Fr. Sina’s last day.  Please pray for him in his new duties at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception in Fredericksburg.  On June 25, Fr. William Saunders will be your new Pastor, with the help of Fr. Peter McShurley.  Please welcome them kindly as your new fathers in the life of grace.

I would like to express gratitude to all of you for your gracious support and friendship during the past six years.  St. Agnes will always be in my thoughts and prayers, as this parish was my first assignment as a Pastor.  Please pray for me as I undertake new duties as Pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes.

With confidence in the strength that God gives us, “let us run with endurance the race that is set before us” (Hebrews 12:1).  And recall the words of “the One like the Son of Man,” holding seven stars in his right hand, to the church at Ephesus:  “To him who conquers, I will grant to eat from the Tree of Life, which is in the Paradise of God” (Revelation 2:7).

Peace, in Christ Jesus and Mary,
