St. Agnes Children's Choir Participates in Pueri Cantores Mid-Atlantic Regional Festival

Pueri Cantores

On April 28th, the St. Agnes Children’s Choir participated in this year’s Pueri Cantores Mid-Atlantic Regional Festival at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Washington D.C.  The event was hosted by the American Federation Pueri Cantores, the official student choral organization of the Catholic Church.  Pueri Cantores was formed in 1953 and brings youth choirs together to participate in singing for national and international Masses and festivals each year.

Eleven children from St. Agnes spent the day in rehearsal with the other participating youth choirs from the area, and sang songs in English, Greek, and Latin for the evening Mass at St. Patrick’s. The conductor for the Mid-Atlantic festival was Paul French, Music Director from Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Chicago, IL and a well-known composer, arranger, and conductor.

Congratulations to the children, and a big thank you to Laura Cooman, Music Director, for making this opportunity possible!
