St. Joseph Celebration a Joyous Occassion
St. Agnes parishioners know how to celebrate the Solemnity of St. Joseph! Following Mass the evening of Saturday, March 16, St. Agnes hosted hundreds of parishioners and friends from the community at our St. Joseph’s Table Potluck to celebrate St. Joseph, husband of Mary and foster father of Jesus. The festivity was a beautiful blend of cultures and food, offering table upon table of pastas, chicken, paellas, fruits, desserts, breads and more. Father Scott Sina, Parochial Vicar, brought a delicious dish he made himself, which disappeared almost as fast as it came!
Father Frederick Edlefsen, our Pastor, and the local Knights of Columbus led parishioners in a procession around our block and back to the Parish Hall for the festivities. The celebration continued for hours with captivating Italian and French music sung by Ms. Nancy Scimone. The children also enjoyed a woodworking shop.
Thank you Michaela Herndon and the Sodality of Celebrations who, with the help of Keith and Margaret Kelly, hosted the fun, welcoming evening. Thanks also to Joe's Pizza and Pasta and La Union (both on Lee Highway) for the food donations, Daisy Fueñes for cooking and serving food, Knights of Columbus Council 2473 for carrying the St. Joseph statue in the procession, and Nancy Scimone, singer and performance artist for the enchanting music.
Don’t miss our next Sodality event on Sunday, June 23rd, as we celebrate Corpus Christi! Check back for more details as the event nears.
