St. Joseph's Table Potluck Welcomes Community
On Sunday, March 18th, St. Agnes hosted hundreds of parishioners and friends from the community at our St. Joseph’s Table Potluck to celebrate the Feast of St. Joseph, husband of Mary and foster father of Jesus. The festivity was a beautiful tapestry of cultures and foods, offering table upon table of pastas, chicken, paellas, fruits, desserts, breads and more.
Beginning with an accordion-led procession, the local Knights of Columbus, and our very own Grand Knight Joseph Baker, carried a St. Joseph statue around the block and back to our Parish Hall. The celebration continued for hours with captivating Italian and French music sung by Ms. Nancy Scimone. One parishioner commented “these events are so wonderful. We sit next to each other at Mass but many of us don’t know each other. These give us the opportunity to meet each other and to learn about each other.” The children also enjoyed a woodworking shop and piñata. Thank you Michaela Herndon and the Sodality of Celebrations for creating and hosting such a fun, welcoming afternoon! Thanks also to Daisy Fueñes for food, to Knights of Columbus Council 2473 Grand Knight Joseph Baker and fellow Knights for carrying the statue, and to Nancy Scimone, singer and performance artist, and Peter Digiovanni, Accordion Player for the enchanting music.
Don’t miss our next Sodality event on Sunday, June 3rd, as we celebrate Corpus Christi! Check back for more details as the event nears.
