Youth and Young Adults Coordinator

We are seeking a part-time (approximately 20 hours/week) Youth & Young Adult Coordinator to develop and oversee the parish’s growing youth and young adult programs.

The Youth and Young Adult Coordinator (YYAC) will report to the Director of Faith Formation under the guidance of the Pastor.  He/she will be responsible for creating, implementing, and overseeing all activities designed to draw in and aid in the formation of youth and young adults.  These activities include conducting regular meetings and coordinating on and off-site service projects and activities, WorkCamp and partnerships with local organizations, such as Christ House.  The YYAC will recruit volunteer adult leadership from the parish to assist in oversight of these and related activities.    

The YYAC must establish and maintain open channels of communications on many platforms – through channels such as Instagram, Facebook, email, and the church bulletin and eNewsletter, in an effort to generate overall interest and provide ongoing updates. He/she will be an active member of the staff, coordinating activity with the larger team and attending regular staff meetings. 

The YYAC will be expected to prepare an annual budget and present it to the Pastor and the Director of Faith Formation at the start of each new fiscal year. Other documents, such as youth handbooks, brochures, activity attendance reports, permission slips, health forms and safety guidelines must also be distributed as necessary and maintained.

Qualified Candidates must be in good standing with the Catholic Church and serve as examples of what it looks like to live out the Catholic faith daily.  He/she should also have:

  • A bachelor's degree and experience in youth ministry or a related field. (Candidates without formal training but who have recent, demonstrated success growing/leading a religious youth program may be considered.)
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, to include proficiency in computer/social media outreach techniques.
  • Enthusiasm for working with youth and young adults.
  • The ability and willingness to work nights and weekends within the part-time hours.
