March for Life

The 45th Annual March for Life is Friday, January 19th

The theme of the 45th Annual March for Life is appropriately “Love Saves Lives.”  With abortion rates at historic lows, the message of love is one that resonates, drawing women from a dark and lonely place to one of hope.  (A new CDC report showsthere were 12.1 abortions per 1,000 women of childbearing age in 2014, down two full percentage points from 2013, and compared to 19.4 per 1,000 in 2008.) Already the world’s largest prolife event, this year’s March promises to be historic on this special anniversary!

The noon March begins on the National Mall between Madison Drive and Jefferson Drive and will proceed down Constitution Avenue before heading to the U.S. Capitol and past the United States Supreme Court.

Join St. Agnes for the March!  Amy Seldin is organizing parishioners and anyone interested in taking a stand for life to join together for a day of marching and prolife activities associated with the event.  Check out the event flier here and email Amy at [email protected] if you’re interested in joining us for the march.

Last, but not least, St. Agnes will again host students from the University of Notre Dame whose total number traveling to D.C. for the March reaches about 500, many of whom stay right here at the parish while in town.  If you’d like to volunteer to help with this effort or donate food for the college students, please contact Claire Capretta at [email protected].
