Sacramental Preparation
FIRST CONFESSION AND HOLY EUCHARIST REQUIREMENTS
Because of the importance of the Sacraments and because we want our children to share that appreciation, we require TWO YEARS OF RELIGION CLASSES for first reception of the sacraments of Confession and Holy Eucharist.
CONFIRMATION PREPARATION
Seventh grade students who are faithful in attending weekly classes and completing the course of studies are eligible to be candidates for the Sacrament of Confirmation. Confirmation at Saint Agnes is celebrated in the fall of ninth grade. Please contact the Faith Formation Office for more details. We require TWO YEARS OF RELIGION CLASSES, attending weekly, and completing a course of studies to be eligible to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Children who were absent from Religious Education classes for several years following First Holy Communion will need to enroll in 6th Grade in order to prepare for Confirmation.
Home School Families Wishing to Receive the Sacraments
Saint Agnes fully supports our home-schooling families and is happy to welcome them to receive the Sacraments at the appropriate age levels. Home school families are asked to contact the Director of Faith Formation at the beginning of the school year if your children will be receiving the sacraments with the parish class.
